SKYLAR HANCOCK had surgery on Monday morning to replace the bone piece in her skull behind her ear. The surgery went well and she stayed overnight in the hospital. She may not even have to wear the protective helmet.

BARBARA ADAMS has shingles on her forehead. It was caught in the early stages and she’s on medication. Pray that it doesn’t affect her vision. HENRY will have his eye doctor follow-up on Monday July 19th. The spot on his eye is just about gone. They also request prayer for Barbara’s nephew, MITCH GREEN, who’s in ICU after having a light heart attack. He cannot have surgery due to his COPD, and is considered in critical condition.

DOYLE BREWER had a follow-up with the specialist about his eye problems. The right eye has only a slight macular degeneration but is nothing to worry about. Doyle’s left eye will require some corrective laser surgery (for a prior cataract procedure) on August 27th. He appreciates everyone’s prayers.

OLLIE ANTLEY has cornea problems in one eye and is on medication to hopefully clear it up. She’s unable to read right now, which is her favorite pass-time. She is discouraged and would love to have visitors. If anyone would like to go by and see her, it would be a blessing! She appreciates your prayers.

MILDRED SCRUGGS was finally able to have the feeding port removed last week. PTL! Pray for her continued health. She and the family greatly appreciate all the prayers and expressions of concern.

BRYAN RUSSELL (grandson of Vera Simpson) is scheduled for surgery for several dental procedures on Tuesday July 20th at TC Thompson’s. The surgery will take about 2 hours. He’s on another round of antibiotics to fight the infection, which has been causing him much pain. Pray for a successful surgery without complications.

NAOMI WHITE (new grandbaby of Leroy & Joy White) was finally able to come off the oxygen. PTL! Nick & Jamie are very thankful and relieved. Thank you all for praying!

ANDY STEWART (Keith Wardlaw’s brother-in-law / stage 4 colon/rectal/liver cancer) continues to do well after having
surgery last Sunday. On Monday he was transferred to a transition hospital where he will remain until he’s well enough to go home, hopefully in a matter of days. Your continued prayers for him and his wife Adele are much appreciated.

TED PHILLIPS received good reports on his recent tests (prostate, carotid artery, colonoscopy). He continues to have minor surgeries to remove various cancer spots (4 so far). He takes a very casual attitude toward it all, as you can imagine! His brother, TOM, suffered another heart attack last week. Today he was having the procedure to insert a stint. Ted & Pat would appreciate your prayers.

KATIE REID had her regular office visit for allergy shots last week. The nurse asked her and Karen if they would speak at some nursing classes regarding Katie’s allergies. They have also been scheduled to return to Dollywood on July 16th and speak at two classes. They are excited about these new opportunities. Please continue to pray regarding their second claim with the insurance company for approval of Katie’s vocal chord therapy at Vanderbilt.

D.J. SAWYER has just been diagnosed with Leukemia. He and his wife Denise have been at Emory for about a week so that he can receive chemo treatments. Their 1-year-old son is staying with grandparents. This young couple has a strong faith and are remarkable Christians. They are trusting God to show Himself mightily and to use their testimony to bring others to Christ, and bring worship & praise to God. Please pray with them that DJ will be healed. (Denise is a co-worker of Janice Sanders)

NARA (Renato Mizutani’s sister) has an interview on Friday July 16th with the American Consulate, trying to obtain a visa to visit the USA later this month. Renato’s father and Nara’s two children have already been approved, so they are waiting on Nara’s visa. They would appreciate your prayers for the visa to be approved.

DOUG & MELODY CORLEY should have arrived home to Sanford, FL yesterday with all their belongings from Mexico. Also, Melody’s knee replacement surgery is coming up on August 11th.

BILL & GWEN GRIFFIN are in the final preparations for Enrichment Week, July 26-30. They are looking forward to a great week with thirteen missionary families attending. Activities have been planned and everything is falling into place. In just a few days the missionary families will begin arriving. Their goal is to encourage each family returning from the field. They are trusting God to use faithful servants to accomplish His purpose in the lives of everyone. Pray for the speaker, Dr. J.B. Godfrey, for the activities, for the leaders of all age groups. Pray for traveling safety. Pray that all the missionaries will be reminded that they are not alone, and they are part of God’s family where they are cared for and encouraged.

BILL & KARLA ALLEN request continued prayers for their upcoming events this summer: (1) July 12-16 is VBS with Child Evangelism Fellowship missionaries. Pray for a good connection with the kids and that lives will be changed in Christ. (2) July 31 their church will celebrate 180 years as a church. Pray that all the plans will come together, that everyone will be blessed by the weekend activities & fellowship, and that all those who are traveling for the celebration will have safety/protection. (3) A “snowbird” couple in their community has made it back for the summer. Both have health issues (lung cancer and vision problems). Bill has been talking with them about their salvation. Pray that both will come to have assurance of their salvation, that they will trust in Christ and His Word.
